Primitivo di Manduria
Pure Primitivo from the historic Manduria area: temperature-controlled maceration and four months in medium-toast oak give cherry, cocoa and vanilla.
Characteristics
Description
The grapes come from the historic Manduria area. After a temperature-controlled maceration of about ten days, the wine ages for four months in medium-toast oak barrels, which round out its profile without covering the fruit.
The colour is an intense ruby red. The nose reveals ripe cherry and raspberry, together with cocoa, vanilla and a subtle smoky hint.
"Dry, warm, Mediterranean: Primitivo in its land of origin, Manduria."
The palate is dry, medium-full bodied, with soft tannins leading into a warm, Mediterranean finish.
